SINN Féin Councillor Eric McGinley has welcomed the Mayoral launch of the Outer West Community Resilience Plan.
Cllr. McGinley said: “The Outer West Community Resilience Plan will be a welcome resource for residents, community groups and statutory agencies in responding to emergency situations in the area.
“The plan highlights various risks which may present difficulties within the area such as severe weather, flooding, security threats, power cuts and fires. The plan then outlines agreed arrangements which will be put in place in response to any incident.
“A considerable number of individuals, groups and agencies have come forward to offer assistance in activating the Resilience Plan and all of these efforts will provide reassurance and practical support to residents of the Outer West area stretching from Rosemount through to Coshquin.
“I would take this opportunity to commend the work of everyone who has been involved in bringing this Resilience Plan into existence.”
