THE PSNI say a 40-year-old man has been arrested today over the INLA wake and funeral for Peggy O’Hara, the mother of hunger striker Patsy O’Hara.
The suspect was detained by detectives from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit based at Maydown.
The man has been taken to the temporary serious crime suite at Musgrave police station in Belfast for questioning.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “A number of searches are also being conducted at locations across Derry.”
He is the latest to be arrested by detectives investigating offences committed at Peggy O’Hara funeral & wake in Derry in July.
During the wake outside her home, masked men fired a volley of shots over her coffin.
At her funeral, scores of men and women wearing black berets, dark glasses and scarves over their faces, accompanied her funeral cortege to the city’s cemetery.
