MAYOR of Derry City and Strabane District Council Cllr Elisha McCallion has extended her thanks to the City Hotel for hosting an event to raise money for her Emergency Refugee Fund.
Speaking at the launch of the “Love from Legenderry” event – a 70’s and 80’s themed disco, to take place at the City Hotel on Friday, 23 October, Mayor McCallion said she was delighted to have the City Hotel on board in helping to raise awareness of her campaign to support refugees.
Encouraging the public to support the event by coming along on Friday 23 October, the Mayor said it promised to be a great night’s entertainment.
“Get your 70’s or 80’s gear out of the wardrobe and come along for a night’s craic. It will be great fun of music and entertainment whilst helping a very worthwhile cause.
“Admission is just £5 and all proceeds going to the Mayor’s Emergency Refugee Fund in association with Trocaire,” she said.
Rory Cooper, Deputy General Manager at the City Hotel added, ‘We are thrilled to be working with the Mayor and raising money for such a worthy cause.
“With the crisis ongoing we were keen to show our support to the Mayor’s appeal. It promises to be a great night of entertainment with some fantastic prizes on offer.’
Tickets are on sale from the City Hotel Reception at 028 71 365800.
