SINN FEIN say one of its MPs received a death threat this morning from loyalist paramilitarties.
The party say it will not be deterred from carrying on its work despite the threat to Francie Molloy, the MP for Mid Ulster, whose constituency covers south Derry, including Magherafelt, Maghera and Desertmartin.
Mickey Brady MLA said: “The PSNI visited the home of Sinn Féin MP Francie Molloy in the early hours of this morning.
“They informed him of an imminent threat to his life from Unionist paramilitaries.
“This is the latest in a line of recent threats towards our representatives and members.
“While Sinn Féin and Francie Molloy are taking these threats seriously it will not deter us from carrying out our work for all of the people in our constituencies.
“I would appeal to anyone who has any information to bring it forward to the PSNI so that those who are intent in taking us backward are brought to justice.”
