SINN Fein chief Martin McGuinness has hit out at the Ulster Unionist Party’s decision to recommend that its Minister quits the Executive in a row over the Provisional IRA.
UUP leader Mike Nesbitt made the announcement at Stormont this lunchtime.
He said he plans to lead his MLAs into opposition at Stormont.
He said his party’s ruling executive will meet this Saturday evening to vote on his recommendation.
However, republicans have dismissed the UUP move as little more than a “political stunt”.
Martin McGuinness said: “This decision by the UUP is more about inter Unionist rivalry than their & others feigned concern about our unequivocal commitment to Peace.”
