SCHOOLS from across the North have been recognised at the annual Health Action Awards.
Hosted by local charity Action Cancer and independent retail group Centra, the awards ceremony at Ttitanic Belfast saw over forty schools pick up accolades for their innovative approach to health education.
The awards are part of Action Cancer’s Health Action initiative which provides a range of health promotion sessions for schools and colleges across Northern Ireland.
Fiona Doherty (right), a teacher at Carnhill Nursery School in Derry, picked up the Stewart Bryans award for most improved school from Centra’s brand Manager Nikki McDowell, Action Cancer’s Chief Executive Gareth Kirk and Citybeat’s Stephen Clements.
