HAPPY NEW YEAR to Derry Daily readers – wherever you are in the world.
Let’s all hope that in 2015 Derry and its people get their just rewards; that we are finally treated as citizens with equality and fairness for all.
To you and your families, we hope 2015 is a year of hope and promise.
We were reminded today again that not everyone is surrounded by large wonderful families. Some have problems during the holidays and sometimes are overcome with great sadness when remembering the loved ones who are not with us.
We all know so many families like that. And we all know people like that. Support that neighbour – say ‘hello’ more often.
In 2015 we urge you to support each other; keep that sense of community which has kept Derry people – in city and county – together for generations.
Support your local indigenous businesses, the corner shop – or the shop at the crossroads – and your local post office.
Because when they’re gone, they are gone forever and we lose another part of us all.
May 2105 be another great new year for Derry and its people.
We have come so far – and we have further to go.
Finally, thank you to our thousands and thousands of readers who have helped make Derry Daily Ireland’s fastest growing news website.
