A man sustained serious facial injuries when assaulted in Derry city centre at the weekend.
According to police, the man in his 20s sustained the injuries, believed to include a broken jaw, when assaulted in Castle Street shortly before 1.00am on Saturday.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
A PSNI spokesperson asked anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to contact police on the 101 non-emergency telephone number.
The spokesperson said if anyone preferred to provide information without giving their details they could contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
